COLT Studio Group, Maleflixxx Sign Digital Distro Deal

TORONTO — Gay pay-per-view network Maleflixxx has signed an exclusive deal with COLT Studio Group to distribute the studio’s content worldwide in several new media platforms including video-on-demand, TV, mobile, IPTV and others.

The distribution strategy calls for Maleflixxx, which is operated by digital distribution company Sureflixxx, to carry all COLT Studio Group brands including COLT, Buckshot and Olympus, on their pay-per-view network, as well as operating the studio’s video-on-demand online theatres.

The companies also have partnered to promote an original series featuring COLT President John Rutherford and his work as a groundbreaking director/producer, while actively expanding COLT’s presence in the global online marketplace.

“We have always admired John Rutherford and the quality of COLT content. Our customers and affiliates have been telling us that COLT content would be an ideal fit for our market. We are very proud to be working in partnership with COLT to expand their visibility and market penetration,” Sureflixxx Digital Distribution President Eric Johnson said.

“The highly skilled team of digital media specialists here at Maleflixxx will provide a wide range of services to COLT Studio Group in relation to distribution of content in the digital marketplace, including content management, marketing, legal, business development and technical support,” Johnson said.

Rutherford expressed the importance of finding the “right fit” for COLT, in terms of accessing new media platforms, such as Internet protocol TV, and moving into the future of digital distribution.

“I have known Michel, Eric and most of their team at Maleflixxx for a number of years and as someone who trusts slowly and takes my time before partnering with others, I have paid close attention to the success they and their team have had in the new media playing field worldwide,” Rutherford said. “It’s exactly where COLT Studio Group needs to go … I like it when they say they’re going to do something they do it. I look forward to the synergy between our two companies in this constantly evolving industry.”

Sureflixxx’s Johnson indicated the trend for DVD producers looking to expand their distribution into digital formats.

“The next few years are going to be critical for adult producers. As the marketplace shifts increasingly to an on-demand environment, it is vital that producers have a solid digital strategy and partners that can help them maximize every opportunity available,” he said.

The news of the distro deal follows shortly after COLT’s announcement of a product endorsement deal between the studio and mainstream men’s clothing manufacturer AussieBum.

Additionally, in September the studio launched its revamped flagship site, COLTStudioGroup.com, as well as affiliate program COLTCash.com.
